LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron University women’s golf head coach Christi Williams showed off her international recruiting ability by signing Iceland’s Gerdur Ragnarsdottir to join the 2018-19 CU women’s golf team.

Ragnarsdottir, a right handed golfer from Reykjavik, Iceland, is a standout golfer from Kvennaskolinn Reykjavik High School. She has posted an 18-hole stroke average of 83 with a round low of 73 and a 36-hole best score of 155.

“Gerdur is an excellent addition to our golf program,” said Williams. “She has a strong game that will transfer nicely to the collegiate playing level. I know she will come in and make an immediate impact to our squad. We are excited she chose to join our golf program and look forward to watching her succeed at Cameron.”

Ragnarsdottir joins a women’s golf signing class that includes Granbury, Texas native Molleejo Crain who signed earlier this spring.
