CU to begin final non-conference stretch with LCU and RSU

Starting 5:
1. Cameron has not lost three games in a row since the 2015-16 season.
2. The last time CU and Lubbock Christian met, Tyler Williams capped a remarkable 10 point comeback with a game winning half-court shot to secure the 79-76 victory.
3. LCU enters the game against the Aggies having played three straight contests against ranked opponents.
4. Rogers State has just one loss in their last eight contests and that came against No. 22 Arkansas-Fort Smith.
5. LCU and RSU both have players averaging over 18 points per game, Isaac Asrat (LCU, 20.7 ppg.) and Baron Smith Jr. (RSU, 18.4 ppg.).
 
About the Aggies:
Cameron enters the final stretch of non-conference play on a two game skid as they travel to face their future conference opponents Lubbock Christian and Rogers State. CU is averaging just over 72 points per game while giving up the same amount of points to their opponents. They are shooting 44.5 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from the perimeter while knocking down 71.3 percent of the shots from the charity stripe. Additionally, the Ags average 12.6 assists, 33.2 rebounds, 5.7 steals, and just 1.3 blocks per game.
 
Individually, Bryce Elie is the only CU player averaging in double-figures with 12.3 points per contest. Elie is shooting the ball at a .524 clip from the field and had an outing where he scored 27 points against Maryville earlier this season. JV Long leads Cameron in assists (4.0) and steals while averaging 9.4 points, while Tyler Williams is scoring 9.3 points per contest while leading the team in rebounding. Scouting the Chaparrals:
Lubbock Christian opened the season on a three game losing streak before going 3-1 in their next three contests. They enter the matchup with the Aggies on another three game skid after falling to No. 8 West Texas A&M, 82-72, their last time out. LCU did beat LSC member Angelo State 69-65 on November 25 and played in close games against No. 6 UT Permian Basin and Texas A&M-Commerce.
 
Against the Buffs, the Chaparrals got a 30 point, 11 rebound effort from Brennen Fowler. Fowler is currently second on the team in scoring (15.8) but leads the team and the conference with 8.5 rebounds per contest, while shooting over 55 percent from the field. He also has a team high 22 blocks on the season. LCU’s leading scorer, Isaac Asrat, who is averaging over 20 points per game this season, scored just 12 points against WT, while Stephen Lennox also had a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Asrat has eclipsed the 20 point mark five times this season with a 31 point game in the win over Randall; he made eight threes in that game.
 
As a team, Lubbock Christian is averaging just shy of 75 points per game while giving up 76.7 to their opponents. They are shooting 47 percent from the field, 40 percent from three, and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe. Additionally, the Chaps average 14 assists, 35.5 rebounds, 4.6 steals, and 3.7 blocks per contest.
