CANYON, Texas – The Cameron men’s basketball team had a rough go on the road as they fell 93-59 to No. 11 West Texas A&M on Saturday evening.
The Aggies had trouble stopping a hot shooting WT who shot 45 percent on the floor while going 14 of 37 from beyond the arc and 25 of 33 from the line.
Cameron shot 29 percent from the field on 19 of 65 and were 5 of 20 from beyond the arc and 16 of 17 at the line.
The Buffs also out-rebounded Cameron 51-32 in a game where they led by as much as 40 points.
Tyler Williams was the lone Aggie in double figures as he scored 11 points. Delano Jones added nine while JV Long, Johann Tate and Tyus Momoh each scored eight points. Jalen Nicholas had a team high five rebounds.
Leading WT was Jordan Evans with 23 points, and Gaige Prim had 17 points and ten rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Gach Gach rounded out the double figure Buffs with 16 points.
The loss drops Cameron to 5-10 overall and 1-5 in the Lone Star Conference. WT is now 14-1 and 4-1 in the league.
