Cameron jumps up four spots at UCO Classic

EDMOND, Okla. — Cameron University’s women’s golf team moved up four spots in the team standings on Tuesday to finish seventh at the UCO-RCB Bank Classic.

Final Results

The Aggies, who were in 11th with a 324 after the first round on Monday, shot a 309 in the second round, giving them a 633 36-hole score for the event. CU finished 39 strokes back of the tournament winner Arkansas Tech.

Senior Kennedy Wheeler had the low round of the day for the Black and Gold, shooting a 75 with two birdies and an eagle on her scorecard. She finished with a two round score of 162 and tied for 46th.

Iona Roska was the top finisher on the team, tying for 22nd with a 152, after her 78 on Tuesday. Allison Duffin, who finished in 29th and Molleejo Crain, who carded finished with a tournament score of 165, both had 78s in round two as well. Gerdur Ragnarsdottir finished her first collegiate tournament with a 166 after her second round score of 80.

Kyndall Morgan, who competed as an individual, finished tied for 25th with a 154.

In the team standings, Northeastern State came within two strokes of ATU with a 596, while Southwestern Oklahoma State was just a stroke back in third. Rogers State and Central Oklahoma rounded out the top-5.

SWOSU’s Chloe Thackery was the top finisher individually, carding an even 142 in the two round event.

Cameron’s next event will be when they host the Oklahoma Intercollegiate, Oct. 22-23 at the Lawton/Fort Sill Country Club.
