Jennifer Cocoma Hustis, an Edmond, Oklahoma artist, will have her work on display at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center, Jan. 5, 2017 – Feb. 25, 2017.

Her show, Symbiosis on the Chisholm Trail, will feature some of her favorite works, along with many new creations. Duncan’s Nancy Litsch is a friend and collector of Jennifer’s work. She connected the Heritage Center with Jennifer earlier this year and a pairing was made!

Hustis is known for her large dramatic paintings of horses and also creates mixed media assemblages. She believes animals are messengers in life and she captures their expressive personalities in her work.

She has a master in fine arts from Pratt Institute in New York (1995), in painting and sculpture. She also is founder of Art of Horsemanship, LLC, which is a safe, holistic and creative way to approach horsemanship and art lessons for all ages. She also teaches and creates art programming (hands-on) for community public projects, non-profits and museums.

Jennifer has a bachelor in fine arts (1993) from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Since 2000, she has participated in group exhibitions and solo exhibitions. She’s exhibited at the Science Museum Oklahoma, the Dean Lively Gallery in Edmond, JRB Art at the Elms Gallery in the Paseo, Oklahoma State Capitol Gallery and the Steve Martin Studio in New Orleans, LA.
