2019 Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra Concert Season

The Infinite Variety of Music
Celebrating the Bernstein Centennial
Jon Kalbfleisch, Music Director & Conductor

This season, we join the entire world in celebrating one of America’s greatest musicians; conductor, composer, pianist, author, and outsized personality, Leonard Bernstein.

He left a remarkable legacy, and this tremendous season includes his music from Broadway and his astounding “piano concerto” disguised as a symphony, as well as works he championed as a conductor by Beethoven and Mahler.

Come hear some of your favorites again, and discover things that you may have overlooked, in an incredible season demonstrating the infinite variety of music, about which he so eloquently wrote.

Our opening concert is actually on Bernstein’s 100th birthday; so don’t miss a single note!
